I am not sure about the mornings. We didnt start fishing for the whites and wipers until about 6 in the evening when the wind went down and the pleasure boaters got off the water. We fished right up until dark and they were still popping the surface in spots.
We were throwing spinno-kings and 1/4 ounce sassy shads and doing pretty good on them.

went to Clinton after the rain and man was it windy. Only 3 boats on the lake. Was throwing for whites across a couple of points and caught about 13 small walleyes and 3 nice keepers 18-20 inches. Had walleye, eggs and hash browns for breakfest. All caught in less than 5 ft of water on rattletraps.

Could not fish the hump too windy so I went up the next arm in the trees and hit a point and caught white bass for 3 hours. Had to quit as I did not want to go through the trees in the dark.
