Kevin and I got into the wipers on topwater again last night! I caught 2 at the same time on my Skitter pop! No really big ones but we landed several 24"-26" fish, even had a huge "donkey" on my 5wt fly rod for aout 5 minutes until he snapped my tippet!!!
Going back after them again tonight with heavier tippet!
Kevin had a couple of big "donkey's" straighten his hooks out at the boat too!!!
Had a couple of totally awesome down pours but fished right through in our rain suits...

Went out to El Dorado last night with my dad to try to catch whatever. Didn't have a problem finding fish, but they were scattered from one end of the lake to the other, never found the motherload. Caught several good walleye, one keeper crappie out of timber, and the rest were white bass, o yeah! and the token El Dorado drum! Ended up with about 20 fish. Wish I could find the wipers like you guys at Milford are, a month ago they were easy to come by, now I'm scratching my head. Kept an eye out for surface activity but only saw the occasional carp. Good trip overall!, wondered if anyone was getting rain from all the cloud buildup and lighting to the north.

I have been out a few times, but mostly refilling jig boxes and fly boxes that got cleaned out this spring. I have some sweet looking bucktails and a few new ideas that need to get "field tested" between now and dock time.

Headed for Webster this morning like an idiot. Tried talking myself out of it all week long but my brother was flying in from Phoenix for the big KSU/Miami matchup tomorrow so I took today off hoping to get some fishing in. Thought we'd try Webster because I've never fished it and it's supposed to be a pretty decent lake to fish with North wind. Got there around 8:30 a.m. Got the boat already to go, put rain suit on just in case. was getting into truck to back down ramp and CRACK!!! Scared the crap out of me! I don't mind fishing in the rain as long as it's not a down poor but lightning, forget about it. Was watching radar on the way out and it was just showing rain but by the time I got there some significant storm cells had built up. Could of waited it out I suppose but with family coming in late this afternoon, we headed for home. At least put out the effort I guess!!! Hoping to hit OSFL next week some evening after work next week. Then maybe see if I can get my boat on next weekend. Be heading to the Glen again soon and maybe try Webster again when the forcast looks more promising.

that sucks. Anybody think the big boats will be out at Pomona tomorrow. Would like to go after those whites and wipers. Never caught a wiper before and it sounds like fun.

Wipers are a blast to catch!! After reading Crappiedoc's post about OSFL, I might have to cross that off my list of lakes to fish.

I would imagine it will be considerably more quiet on Pomona tomorrow than it has been recently. With the rain we are getting now and the temps supposed to be in the low 50's tonight with highs of 75 tomorrow I spect they will not be near as bad tomorrow. A lot of pleasure boaters put them up for the winter after labor day.
If you go to Pomona be sure to try the hump between the adams grove ramp and the 110 mile ramp. That is where we got into them last weekend.
