Default High water at the Glen

I can really plan fishing trips. :D:DThumbs Up Went down to Table Rock a month ago right after the lake topped out at ~20ft high. Camped out at Lyon SFL, and saw the tornado that hit Reading. Now this weekend headed to Glen Elder for several days of crappie and walleye fishing, and the lake is high and rising. Still plan on going up there, still will have a good time, can't back of my reservations.

Found this article on KDWP website: Glen Elder Youth Fishing Tournament Postponed / Fishing / KDWP - KDWP

Sounds like the main boatramps are closed, does anyone know any boat ramps that should be opened if the water stays at the current level. Any suggestions on where or what to fish for with the changing conditions (if we can get on the lake ). River channel for walleye??, brushpiles for crappie??, or dam outlet for white bass???.

If I can't get on the lake, might look at making day trips to Wilson Thumbs Up.
    Tim.

With these conditions trolling cranks in alway a great way to find scattered fish. Once you have a depth and color you can zone in from there or if you find a good pattern you can just wear them out that way... Also if you can find some deep water you can dip green or submerged green trees. Both can produce good results in high water. Trolling cranks has put a lot of quick limits in our boat so far this year.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D

Fished the muddy Glen Tues & Wed. Tried trolling, caught a few small crappie still full of eggs. Anchored on the south side and couldn't keep the short walleye off our line. We caught and released 40+ 17" walleye and only one keeper. Lots of timber floating in the lake, had to stand up to drive. Parking lot at Osage is under water and more on the way. Saw a boat on the lake today, he must have put in at Granite Creek or the south side. Be real careful if you go there, especially if you don't know the lake.

Just an observation, but you need a boat just to get to the lake. In a couple weeks Beloit should be good.
All lakes raise a foot when I step in the boat

Mother nature has drastically reduced fishing pressure on the lake.

I heard a rumor today that Glen Elder is gonna keep the high water for quite awhile and not release it. Has anybody else heard anything?

Not a rumor, high water for 6 more weeks. No where for it to go. A lot of water coming down the Missouri river and they don't want to compound the flooding.
