Default Who's going to be at the ramps this weekend to watch the comedy show?

I'll be watching the comedy show at Clinton marina ramp from my slip Saturday morning. Watching inexperienced boaters trying to back their boats in the lake on the first holiday weekend is always good for a few grins. It always amazes me how many have dead batteries when trying to start a motor after sitting all winter. And then there are the poor wives that has never backed a trailer before, being told to turn it to the left, to the left, your other left, then get yelled at for jackknifing the trailer winch handle into the tailgate.
The best is when someone forgets to put the truck into forward, from reverse, then guns the throttle to get up the ramp. By the time they get it into forward the bed is full of water and too heavy for the motor to pull it up the ramp.
You all have a safe weekend.

Saw it last weekend. Guys at the ramp with their motor trimmed clear out of the water trying to get it to stay running. 2 stroke 75 hp Johnson. It was hilarious listening to their conversation. Guys in the shack said they came out 3 times last year and each time the motor had to go to the shop.

Also had the 700+ lbs of folks going out in what looked like a 15 ft tracker. Parked in one of the ramp spots and just started loading their boat and readying it. THen they back it in and it wouldn't start, so they pull out screw with it a bit and back it in. Went on about long after we were gone. I know they couldn't have had much freeboard and with the wind last weekend...

Zummy, there has been a pontoon boat on Clinton that was so loaded down with heavy people the pontoons where under the water with only the deck at waters surface. Wakes where coming over the front so they where all screaming at the driver to slow down, but he was just idling along. I suppose if they all went to one side it would have sunk. Water patrol should get people that stupid off the lake.

Maybe a bag of cheese burgers and watch the show. I seen 5 in an aluminum 16' bass boat last weekend.

I watched a guy screaming at his poor wife who couldn't back the trailer very well. He jumped out and stormed up to the truck and said he'd go it, he was worse than she was! Almost jackknifed the trailer a couple times before he told her to get in and sped off.

I saw a loaded down pontoon on Taneycomo a couple years ago just like Captain Dan was talking about. One guy went to the front to get a beer out of the cooler and the nose caught water and lifted the hole back end of the pontoon out of the water, I thought they were going to flip. Of course they were all so drunk that it was just funny to them, nevermind they were generating pretty strong and none of their drunk butts probably could have swam to the bank with that current.

I know all about those low riding pontoons. The older ones just have too little tubes to support much. Unloaded with just driver we had maybe 6 inches of clearance underneath. With people onboard everyone to the rear! Haha.

My friend shared what he say on Melvern a family out to water tube the woman in back of the boat was holding the tow rope when they said hit it she went flying out of the boat. more recent at Melvern again a very intoxated fisher trying to load his boat backed his truck into the lake with just the cab showing he hooked a tow strap to the fron bumper and tryed to pull it out by hand, when my friend showed up to pull it out with his 4 weeler it just pulled his front bumper off. I've got pics of it but I don't know how to get it from my messages to this site.

We will be on the water at 5 am and off at 1030 am. Been doing it that way for a few years now. The lake lice and other idiots are just waking up by the time we are loaded and headed home!!!

A few years back at Clinton marina ramp, I was waiting to trailer my boat while watching this gal try to back the trailer in with her husband yellin at her as the poor gal couldnt back it in straight. Finally he jumped out of the boat and yelled at her to get her arse in the dam boat. Well, she yanked her top off an threw it in the boat. Next thing she is diving head first into the boat. Poor gal forgot to put her bikini top on! One of the funniest things Ive ever seen!
