Several Years back when the water was high and up in the Willows I sat and watched 2 Fish & Game Officers try and launch there service Boat,,the Male Warden launched the Female Warden and went to park the truck,,as he walked back to the ramp she was waving her arms and yelling to bring the trailer back because they had forgot the Plug. So,he frantically tried to get backed in,,,10 to 12 times jacking the trailer as the boat was listing,,finally he got it straight and she had it lined up.By now the Boat is at a 45 degree angle front to back,,,she guns it forward and miss's the front roller and SLAM's into the Tailgate!!! LMAO,,this was before Video Recorders on Phones and definitely would have Won $10,000 on "Americas Funniest Videos" with out a doubt!!!

I did that the other day. I have a 14-foot v-hull fishing boat. I unloaded it off the trailer, pulled it over to the dock to tie it up and noticed it was filling up with water. I was able to get the plug in and fortunately the trailer was still in the water. Disaster was avoided, but I still felt like a real dork standing there for what seemed like 10 minutes waiting for all the water to drain out.![]()

Yeah, I forgot the plug one time in an old crestliner, fished for hour before the water came through the floor drain drain. All I could do was idle to the ramp and was able to back th trailer in deep enough to get the thin on the trailer far enough I could pull i ou o the water far enough enough to stand ther like an idiot and watch water run out forever! Now I pu the plu in the night before I head out!
Sorry fishless that is now illegal in this state.
Fear me all ye that dwell beneath the waves
It's easy to talk about all of the stupid things people do. Some people are truly clueless. But there are a lot of things to do and remember when boating and a number of things can go wrong even when everyone's safety is the captains utmost concern. I too think from time to time about what a dummy the other guy is but I have to remind myself that I have been that dummy as well. So I will always lend a hand, give advice whether they heed it or not, and be smart enough to listen to that other guy that's giving me some as well because he can see what's coming and I can't. Please be safe out there! I breaks my heart to think of those two kids sitting in the boat alone.
The best thing about grandpa's hand made jigs is they are grandpa's.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!
