Best of luck to everyone on there fishing adventures this year.

i have to agree it doesnt matter what time of year the fish is taken its now out of the gene pool. I would agree ahut down the dams and let them spawn if it was a matter of them being easier to catch durning the spawn but from what i know its easier to catch them after the spawn when they move to the flats. I like eatting walleye and will keep them when ever i can x
    catch a legal fish.

Not trying to add fuel to the fire but it's my understanding that you should keep the female crappie during the spawn since it's the males that stay on the nest and protect it.....sounds like WOMENS LIB in the fishing world and as far as the walleye spawn it is so hard for me to catch one that if I'm lucky enough to pull one in it'll be going in the frying pan....they are the fish of 10000 casts for me during the spawn and standing on the rocks in the dark has limited my trips to almost nil
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!

Oklahoma Dept of Wildlife also nets ripe females from Canton Lake, until this year, and fertilizes them with males. This provides us with the necessary stockings. Our boys are now harvesting females from Ft Supply this year because Canton has been drained by Okla City. I believe we may swap fish with your Dept. Our annual goal is over 6,000,000 eggs.

For most anglers I believe this is the "Ultimate Goal". I only hope is if you keep them, they are eaten. The whole program was started for this very reason, but like anything else, when money becomes attached to something it is corrupted.
