    Default Eldorado Lake

I am fairly new, ok real new to crappie fishing at Eldorad and was wondering if anyone knows about the west side of the lake, say from sailboat cove north along the shore. Is it any good during the spawn and if not is it any good at all? Looks like alot of smaller rocks as far as shoreline goes and is this good for crappie spawning?...thanks

I'm fairly new to crappie fishing myself.Last year was my first year trying the spawwn at ElDorado.I had decent luck at the boat ramps in the state park.I also heard of people having luck at the marina boat docks.I talked to one of the park rangers and he pointed us towards the rock barrier next to the swimming area in the park.We didn't have any luck there, but by the time we got over there the weather had turned.I wish I could be more help, but I plan on being out there as much as possible this year and hopefully get a good feel for the place.

    Lonnie,

That is a great place to work the crappie in the spring. I have fished along the rocks for years there and have done very well. Might want to take a long rod for the trees also. Maybe I will see you out there this year..

A LOT of people fish the rock quarry, just north of sailboat cove, for crappie during the spawn, for bank or boat fishermen. It a good place to go if the wind is really blowing. After the crappie spawn, it turns into party cove.
