Now I know I am in the lowly group that just fishes.....
I guess I could ask the wife if she will break ice for me later in the winter.... but I know she would tell me to Go Pound Sand

Probly not a bad day for fishing you would be the only one on the water.

Never did this to fish but Byron Johnson and I did it many times to duck hunt at Glen Elder in the late 90's! Also replaced a lot of tail light lens on the boat trailer after backing the boat into the water in the dark only to discover "hard" water!! Lol

I did that once to launch a boat for duck hunting also. But then we still had to throttle it up to drive up on the ice and jump up and down in the boat to keep 'er moving and breaking ice. I rememer thinking we were surely going to die and how the F did I get mixed up with the guys I was out with... My lifejacket was not much comfort. I just kept thinking it would only make our bodies easier to find later... Once we hit open water I felt a lot better about the whole situation, but we smashed ice for a good 150 yards to hit open water. And of course it was not a LUND boat like the pic. It was a crappy flat-bottom boat loaded with a blind, 3 hunters, 2 labs, and all the decoys we had space for...

"Shockingly" we had the lake all to ourselves that day, and we did get ducks.

Now that I have kids, I do not do those bright things I did when I was younger and dumber.
I am just pullin' your leg.:D
