ped question

sometime ago had to have a new ped used it 3 or 4 times never really seated quite right went to hd yesterday it didn't want to stick at all the old one still clickks in ky'd the new one ??? with my fat on top it ought to seat it but and thats a great big butt any help????banghead

Is it a tapered or straight shank?It might be just a little bigger?

got a slight taper looks just exactly like the old one it is the post holding the seat off of the platform of the boat keeps the boat seat from being flat with the platform??

I had a similar issue with my front ped. The boat came with a sit-downer and I wanted a stand-upper. The new post doesn't fit quite like the factory post. But for mine, it went in and won't come out. Which is fine... The only problem is when I want to let my kids or somebody else fish from the bow there's no seat, because of the permanent stand-up ped.

Sometime I plan to sand it down a touch, and then polish it and see if it doesn't come out easier. Maybe that would work for you. The aftermarket pedestal said it was the same diameter, but obviously it was a different brand or something and is very slightly larger than the original.
