Default Just Got Back From Ludington MI

    Guys,

I got back last night around 2 am from Salmon Fishing in Michigan. All I can say is if you ever get the chance or want to go do it. Very affordable and is the trip of a life time. We will have a full write up on our website in the next couple of days giving full details. Now here is just a taste of what we did for 2 days...

I hope everyone had a safe weekend back home...

    Hey Nick,
At first glance I thought you were holding some big walleyes. Sounds like a great time, which lake/tributary did you fish? Did you keep any for the table? Just one of those big guys is a fish fry. Nice looking fish, what kind of salmon are they? I'll make sure to get out your website

We went fishing in Lundington Michigan. Very nice trip and yes this was a meat hunting trip, we ended the trip with 21 kings and 3 silver salmon. The ones pictuered are kings. We took over 150 pictures and about 20 videos so we will have some great posts. I am down loading vidoe of youtube tonight and should have something up starting in the next few days.

We did come home with a lot of meat but when you split it 4 ways what seams like a lot doesn't fill the freeze that much.

    Default Ludington

I grew up in Grand Rapids Michigan and my Grand parents had a cottage on Hamlin Lake in Ludington Michigan. I used to catch some really nice Salmon in the big Lake and caught tons of Pike in Hamlin Lake. This post brings back many great memories of my childhood. I left Michigan back in 1988, it was a great place to grow up. The plus side is our Crappies here are huge compaired to the ones in Michigan. Great post and glad you had a good time.

What a great time that must of been, one of those trips etched in memory forever! Love the video, what fights harder a King salmon or a wiper? I only ask because most people around here say a wiper fights as hard as anything in freshwater, I once caught a steelhead (much smaller than those kings I must say) in Oregon messing around with an old zebco 202 and it seemed to be by far the best fighting fish I have caught but it could of been the river current I suppose. Any way I'm very envious of your trip, would love to catch me a salmon some day.

    Steve,
The salmon is the better of the two by far although the for us land lock fisherman you can't beat a good fight from a 20 in+ wiper. We where using fairly heavy tackle and I can tell you it was a blast both ways. I did hook into a fish in the river on light tackle and he won that battle. If you can I would say plan a trip it's really a lot less expensive than one would think. We will have everything up in a day or two about our adventures as soon as my partner gets done creating the pages.
