Sickle hook question

Actually two questions. First, do the sickle hooks seem to have a smaller barb that standard 214el? The reason I ask is it seems like the minnow comes off very easy. Second, what hook fits a 1-1/2 tube bait properly? The #4 looks good until its fished and it slids down and sits on the bend of the hook. I like the wide gap, but the the bait just doesn't look natural. Thanks for any tips.

Yes the barb is slightly lower in profile and laid back a tad more never had any problems lip hookin My minnow's for trailer'in a jig as far as the tube I prefer the #2 sickle on all My plastic baits set's the hook back for those short hit's sometime's their goin for the tail movement.

Have you tried any sickle tube jig hooks sure there is some one here that could make a few

I've got the mold for the small tube head but never though about a sickle on them I'll have to check if the hooks will fit in the mold. That one is real picky about the hooks used it in and I REALLY hate modifing my molds.

I'll let everyone know when I give it a try.

Let me know for i see them using them on other molds so i thought why not these molds.
