    Default Night Jigs and Flies?

Got some warm days coming but have to work. So I plan to head out after dark to find my dinner. All of night fishing I have done in the past is with minnies... but fish are just getting into spawn and very shallow, so know where they should be, so was thinking of taking my jig box and maybe even my flyrod.

Any thoughts on colors that may work? Should I just stick to all black? I have some glow thread so was thinking of making up some wolly buggers with a glow body... but what color hackle wrap and tail?

Thanks and hope to post some results. - AtticaFish

Pearl white has been the HOT ticket here for the past couple of days they have been slamming both Crappie and Gills on them. Well not slamming but the fish caught sure make up for the slow bites. The gills where pushing 8 inches and the crappie all over 11 inches. So you might want to put some pearl in your selection may payoff on Ohio as well

I like a couple of my colors that I use at night and here are what I guess is the first to try...
Brt. Green/Variegated one that looks black and green/Chart tail. or..
    Black/Same Body/Black tail

The bottom one I call Black Widow and the other is named Green Hornet. You can take a look on my Jigs page I think.

I also would think my Bumble Bee would also work, but have not tried it. I make it with either a Yellow or a Black head then black & yellow variegated/Yellow tail. I do think maybe some other colors would also work with a light if you use one and if not still maybe a good moonlit night a jig with some chart for body and or tail?

I do tend to go darker at night and mostly because the is how I use to bass fish at night for so many years.

Well, not a whole lot of action and waaaaaay tooooo windy. Caught 2, 1 on one of my glow jigs other on a minnie. Gonna try again tonight after the kids go to bed, callin for 10mph winds instead of 25-30!

Didn't even try the flyrod, will wait for a night with some moonlight to at least tell if my fly is in the water or up in the tree behind me. :D

    Hey, Farmer of Grubs...:p
If I can produce it with my set of skills, just about anyone on here can RE-produce it. Olive and white body, the head is all nail polish, spent more time on that than anything. Heads will chip some if your fishin rocks. Let me know if you want me to make you a dozen, I want em to get some action... I'm sure the little guy feels lonely - AtticaFish
