Whats your best brand jig hook and size I was try'in some new style's of jig's this morning and lost a Hawg due to hook-up.My fault should'a been fishin with?:D

I like Japanese hooks like Owner and Gamakatsu but can't usually find them in the sizes I use. In that case, I use Mustad.

I have turned to Matzuo #4 sickle hooks on jigs poured by Tommy Crenshaw (TCI Fishing Lures on Ebay) or <[email protected]> direct. Great holding hooks that are so sharp they should come with a warning. I caught a 7 pound bass on one using 4# test line. They are dangerous to work with. Can't say that I've lost a fish on one yet. Although I missed what looked like a 2 pounder last week on a regular # 6 tube jig hook. I'm going through my tackle boxes and throwing away all but the sickle hooks before this week end.

Disclaimer: I've nothing to do with Tommy and his jigs except I buy them and enjoy the very fast service and good products.

i dont know what brand they are but the sickles are the best ive seen .if a fish swims by there screwed:D gabulldog can tell u what kind they are

Here's a picture of some I've bought from Tommy.
Top one is 1/32 oz # 6 with crystal shrimp pattern tied
Middle is a 1/16 oz # 4 ball head jig
Bottom is a 1/32 oz #4 fish head jig

there matzuo sickle hooks and i use vmc hooks as well but when i tie a jig for me to use its on a sickle there soo sharp i hung one into a tree trunk and the point came out the other side lol ok there not that sharp but dang close

I use Mustad 32756 Bronze hooks from #10 to 2/0 and never had a proplem.

I've always used Mustad 32756 Bronze hooks from 6 up to 3/0 and hung some BIG smallies in Lake Champlain and elsewhere and never had any problems with them so I still buy them.

But I bought some of the sickles to try out and yeah their sharp as heck.

PawPaw if I went through all the jigs I have poured on Mustad and got rid of them I'd be able to support a WHOLE BUNCH of folks for years, panfish up through Bass.
