    Default Firetiger?

Anyone use or make up jigs in dark green/bright orange? There's days I nail the bass with tubes this color, but have never tried (or seen) it for crappie. I've looked around and have not seen it with chenille? May make up some but trying to get orange belly with drk green back, have ripped out a few I didn't like already.

What color should head be? Any pics or thoughts? - AF

Stick with the pattern, orange head with green stripes.

As for the pattern, have only seen it in rubber skirt material, never on a small fish jig.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

For the belly I'd use some orange diamond braid.Stuff works great for belly stripes.

Chartreuse head wouldn't be a bad choice. Great visibility.

Tied some that color a couple of weeks ago, used powder paint for the the head, started with a green chartreuse base coat, then took a heat gun to the head, warmed it up, then applied some orange powder on the bottom side of the head, used a small craft size paint brush, applied more heat with the heat gun to get a smooth coat, then baked it. Head turned out good.

For the body, used some craft hair on a couple, and kip tail on a couple more. Just matched the hair color to the head, Look good to me but havent tried them yet.

Lakes around here just opened back up last night, will get them wet and see how they work.

There are some char/orange ones on my website. Did not use chenille on them though.

    Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

Hoosierdaddy: Those heads do look awsome, but site said out of stock and did not see a price anywhere?

Buckeye Mike: I'm not too far from you... pretty much everything here is still solid and has yet to be totaly open, only small spots. Yeah, I have quite a few newbie jigs I want to give a test run. Let me know how those fire tiger ones do.

    Thanks - AF
