Default New pattern I been fooling with

This is my first attempt at the minnow head jig. What I was trying to imitate is a golden shiner. The jig is a 1/48 oz and thread is gold metallic.

Waiting for shipment of other materials to expiment a little more. When I said new pattern I meant new to me.

I like it. Are you using bucktail? I have been trying a golden shiner look-alike as well. A lake I fish you can out-catch with a live creek chub 3 or 4 to 1 over a silver shiner. Place is over run with brown bullhead so not sure if thats the reason.

I like the minnow head, I've been using nail polish painted darter heads. I am also using some gold flashabou accent and looks good. Will post what I've got later tonight. Thanks for posting, was going to start thread on same thing. - AF

I like the colors but the fibers look a bit stiff? Dunno, would thinner fibers like marabou with more action make a difference?

The materials are white bucktail and the stiff tip of marabou feathers cut from the vane.
Silver is the next one I am going to try might resemble a lake shiner native up here. Also just got done tying up a chartreuse one with barred marabou. So at least I am thinking like some of you now if I can just tie like some of you.

Here's what I've got going. I made up one silver tonight. Last one I ran a stripe down the belly side of the jig in flo green, just trying to throw in something to get their attention.
