Sounds like a trap to me. Never going to keep everyone happy and not even the people not in it.

I had a online crappie contest a couple of years ago and picked the winner. Well then there are a bunch of people with their own idea of which was the biggest and so on and so on.

Also this is why I didn't have the 2nd year of that.

    Just my opinion,

Everyone has a different opinion as to what makes a good jig. I'll bet that is why most people started tying...because they could not find what they wanted in a store...or thought they could do better than that.

Now you could just pick a color scheme for the month and let individuals post pictures of what they come up with, but a "Contest" is doomed to failure because of the "Human opinion" factor of judging. Tying is supposed to be fun and because your design catches the fish where you live.

There doesn't have to be a prize. Have a jig contest once a month where members send pictures of their jigs for the month. Then have a single post where all the jigs are posted in the first post in a single picture and we all vote on them. Winner jig gets show cased for the next month.

Setting rules/restrictions on materials makes it more fun.
    All one color
    At least 3 colors
    At least 5 colors
    Ugliest
    Prettiest

Winner picks the restrictions for the next month and no one wins more than twice a year. Could be submit entries until the 15th, vote until the 29th or something like that.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I think the winner should get an autographed picture from Skip Framed so we can hang it over the fireplace Or sitting on your fly table so he is always looking at you

Could also have a section for pros with a few years experience and for novice ,,just 0 to 6 months ??

I would compare it to a contest that they have on cumminsforum. They put up the requirements for the month, then accept the first 4 people's pictures of the trucks that meet the requirements. They have a poll where all of the members can decide on the best truck that was entered. The winner receives a prize from one of the site sponsors & is "Truck of the Month" for that month.
