Default Looking for some opinions here (Shrimp)

I originally was going to tie this on a jig head, but since it is heavy by it self I decided to tie it on a Fly hook. It is a Scud/Shrimp and I think it will be close enough to the fresh water shrimp to catch fish. I also am thinking during the spawn it just may be a real killer.

So what do you guys think? Also I thought about tying in some of my home made mono eyes I use on my Wasp, but didn't yet. Oh and it's a #8 hook.

The small inline jaw will handle from large to very small hooks... here is a link
    Nor-Vise - Small Inline conversion

I love how you can spin this vise that can't be done with others. Look at the videos if you have not. Also Norm is a really nice guy.

You can just do so much more with this vise that I can't see using another any more. Sometimes I still pull out my Renzetti, but I also have the fine point conversion if I want a more regular vise for tails on jig, but I have got use to this and it's almost all I use. Dubbing is like you have never done it before and a joy.

I like it. Is a little short from what I see for scuds but works all the same. I would put a little more leg material on it but other than that.

Most of the flies I have made were really small though. Size 12-16 so seeing one on a size 8 is huge. lol

About how long is the body straight across from tip to tip?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

It is close to 1/2" and yes that is the large size, LOL! I just like a little bigger hook so so went wit a #8. but I think I have down to about a #12 in Scud hooks.

Yeah after I was done I wanted more Krystal Flash chenille under it too. I only ran it straight down the hook so if I just warp it one time down the hook it should be better.

all i know is it is better then i can do...i have played with a few flys but hate tying tiny hooks...tryed a 24-26 (very tiny) and got mad and throwed my fly table onto the floor so after that i gave up and ill stick to my jigs nothing smaller then a #8
