I started off with flies and now tie mostly jigs. My name is Stephen, and I am a tie-aholic.

skip in ship you guys have said it well. I've been tying jigs ever since I was 13 and I will be 63 years old this spring it's been a wonderful hobby all my life.yes I am addicted to jig tying try not to get hooked it's is very bad on your pocketbook.

I also have to say thanks, in a very big way, to all the experienced hands that have"kicked me in the right places" to get me to where I am today in this newfound hobby. I have fished almost as long as I've walked and always had a respect for those that made their own.I spent time reloading my own ammo to make groups smaller than a dime at 100yds, and with some direction got it done. But then what? I didn't get the satisfaction I was looking for, nor the comraderie. We won't talk about how Mama felt about having explosives in the house. Tying has filled a void and given back more than I'd hoped for. Thank you, one and all, for all the help and guidance. The fun and friendship are the best. I've recently sold a few and have gotten a couple of my local buds interested enough to get em started again. And it gets better all the time .........Tim

What do you like the best? Fried crappie caught on your own jigs or target soup from your tight group. LOL

Thanks to all who gave a encouraging comment or constructive criticism to the pics of the jigs that I tie. In my opinion this board has the friendliest user bases around. People aren't afraid to share info or help someone out, by giving sound advice. I've been on other outdoor forums like this, and the people here are by far the best!

i would also like to thank everyone that post here it was all of you that gave me the drive to get started,i would also really like to think skip he help me alot and went well out of his way to help me find what i needed.i know there is a new to tying section but it doesn't really help you with all you need as far as size styles brands etc.but with the help of all i am finally ready to start tying some jigs again thanks to all

I think this site is great. I have never asked a question that I didn't get several replys answering. I sent in some jig pics for opinions and got some good advice(and a few kudos!) and never once got anything negative back.I am a newbie but I am here to stay. Thanks Crappie.Com and all you jig tiers from this newbie.

You are welcome. I remember when the jig tying forum started. As I said earlier I had been dabbling in soldering tear drops some and tying a few marabou jigs. My friend Skip really took me under his wing right from the start. We readily shared ideas with each others and then shared techniques with all of those who asked. We do not tell too many of our own personal trade secrets but hopefully we pointed you in the right direction to help you along the way.

I am hooked on crappie.com and I hope others will join us.
