Well,I have been looking back on some of the stupid things that I have asked,lol.But now,they are stupid questions,you guys have all,everyone of you,made me into a jig addict,lol.I am sorta disabled,so to speak,but it gives me something to feel really good about,everyday.Good job.Fishing and catching,are the two things that I do most of,so,why not do it better is what I say.

Someone told me a long time ago, when I was about 20, that if you spent the time to learn something then along the way someone took a minute to teach you something. If you know how to do something, and keep it to yourself and teach no one, what do you really have? These aren't the exact words but it's the jist of it. See one, do one, teach one, and so we move on.
PS- the target soup wasn't bad but the crappie are easier on the knife!

I have learned a lot from people on here, we definitely have a great group of talented people on this site. I started tying about 10 months ago and I feel I have came a long way in that short time and I really think seeing other people's imagination working like mine does helps to see that if you can find the right materials that you can turn out some amazing patterns.

I started out with jigs and am slowly moving over to flies in addition and am slowly going broke doing so lol! It has turned into a passion and has really turned me on to fishing even more catching fish on my own "art". So thank you all that have helped and have shared their works of art to stir the imagination of myself as well many others!

Oh sorry to hear you have already started in to flies too as there are so many more materials for that and so much to choose from that it is a bit overwhelming for sure. Get your pocket book full if you get into flies guys. I feel sure Jubs can already tell you that. So if you want to keep it simple and lower material cost stay away from flies, LOL!

Also know that your hackle cost will go up so much that it's hard to believe. I have spent a small fortune on stuff for flies and don't really tie that many. All the high end capes for dry flies and the streamer capes and other kinds too. All special raised birds to put out special stem shapes and all.

Oh I almost forgot the dubbing thing you can get into and that means many different kind of hair and dubbing materials other than hair. Then more tools for different thing and just maybe a better vise. I can tell you that dubbing has become a lot easier since I bought my Not-Vise which is not even close to the cost of a Renzetti, Peak or Griffin true rotary. It is special for sure.

Indeed the hackle is $$$ I have 2 #2 grade (genetic grizzly and cream) that I bought and 2 professional grade (olive and dun) they sure are nice but I haven't gone crazy on the high high end like Whiting Farms just Metz and Hareline saddles but they are still really nice compared to normal "hackle" or "saddle hackle" I don't intend to fly fish too much for trout and panfish don't seem to be as picky from what little experience I have fly fishing but we shall see.

As for dubbing there is a ton of different types out there and I have bunch of it already but there is so much more to get! One nice thing is that you can turn a lot of different things into dubbing. I didn't have a dubbing to match something the day that I was using craft hair on so I just cut up some of the craft hair and cut up some angel hair flash and mixed it together and it actually turned out pretty decent.

The hooks are what are killing me I am trying to find a supplier that has a reasonable selection at reasonable prices.
