New (to me) Material

Winter is my tying season and I have just started tying crappie jigs the past 2 years. I usually tie lots of bluegill bugs, bass poppers and a few deerhair jigs for smallies. Anyone ever use sillicone skirt material from bass jigs or spinnerbaits? I found a few I never used for replacements and started to cut away. It's hard to get them not to flair out, but I think they look ok.

Whats anyone's thoughts? Tried to tie it before... Fished it... Don't like it?

Yellow head jig is just chenille and marribou but really like it and thought I would put it up here.
