That's the first time I've ever heard of it!!! I'm gonna post your question over on Cast Boolits and see if some of the bullet molders can give me any ideas as they pour certain specs on different bullet heads.

    I'll let you know

Got one answer back from the gang over there and he says

"pure lead will get a blue tint when poured real hot"

I have no idea what he means by too hot as I just poured over 500 1/32 and 1/16 ball head and a couple hundred Pony Heads with pure lead and mine are all bright and shiny

    2nd answer

This is a Very Good Thing...just means it's very pure lead. Sometimes it will be purple or straw-colored.

I'll let you know more tommorrow

If your going to fish them unpainted you can wash them in vinager and it should clean up.They are correct in it is pure or close to it and you could be a bit hot say 750 or hotter.

Did the price of the lead scare you? From what it was a few months ago?
Also I have some pure lead and it does turn a blue color also. But I mix a little wheel weigh in with it. And its takes care of the color change.

My neighbor across the road does roofing. I will check with him. He may be able to get me a lot.
Shoot It would not hurt me to have a few thousand pounds.
Try the wheel weights mixed in. It also allows them to keep the shine. I laughed until I cried at a bait shop a few years back. The Guy that had taken it over, Had a bunch of pure 1 oz sinkers. And a few people would say, I am not buying those old dirty sinkers. They would pick the ones made out of wheel weights as they would shine.. And I told these 2 that the dirty ones would weigh more then the clean one. And when we weighed them. They could not believe when using a pound of them. It almost took a extra 1 oz sinker to make the pound in the wheel weight sinkers.
