another thread question

I am new to tying and I bought an assortment of colors of thread in the 210 Denier waxed in order to tie mostly chenille bodied jigs. When tying a jig that you are not using chenille for the body and will only use the thread color are you using a different thicker thread or the same? In looking at the pictures of how to tie a bucktail jig it appears they are using a lot thicker thread than I have for the chenille. If it takes a different thread, can someone make recommendations as to a thread. I anticapate tying mostly marabou tail jigs with just the thread color body. Thanks

If you are just tying the marabou jig....DO NOT use the thicker threads. I personally use Danville's 210 Denier flat waxed nylon for my tying needs.

What you have will work fine, it's what I use for chenille jigs. The reason I used the large thread is because I tie 3/8th oz - 1 oz. jigs and I put a ton of pressure on the thread to keep the hair in, if I did this with the 210 denier thread it'd break too eaisly.
