I got an older style lighted magnifier at a yard sale for $1 years ago. The base which has a 3/8" rod is mounted to the bench and the arching lamp post sits on it. I made bases for my other benches. It uses medium base bulbs. It helps looking at head stamps and for boxer and Berdan primed casings.
My first computer I was looking down at and did fine with the bi and tri lens of my glasses. The new computer sat higher and I had to lean my head back to view the screen. I saw a photo of someone wearing 2 sets of glasses. Thought, got a pair of 200x reading glasses and used them for years, still do when needed.

On March 9th I had my annual eye exam. The Dr said my eyes were a bit worse but nothing to really be concerned about. She increased my base to 4.00 with add 2.75. Distance 32.50 and near is 31.00 in both eyes. Wen adjusted I'm reading the smallest line on her chart on the machine with all the lenses. However, when I get the glasses, I can only read down to the second from the bottom. I really like the tri-focal glasses, just wish I could see as good with what I get, as I can with their machine when I get them. Another thing, the surgery I had on my left eye for the hole caused cataracts, or i should say, caused the ones I had to multiply real rapidly. So, when those were removed, all light intensified 1000-fold. I get prescription sunglasses as well, and they are a level 5 on the shading, which is as dark as the VA goes. I still need the bill of a hat to shade them on sunny days as the sunshine on my face is too bright, even with my back to it. Life goes on, we just have to deal with the cards we are dealt.
As for the lighted Magnifier I got, I got it from Amazon. It's 10x and the light has 5 levels of intensity. I have it on the lowest level of light when I need the light. most times it's just natural light coming in the window...

I've tried prescription sunglasses in the past. The sun or light comes from my backside and shines on the lens, makes somethings hard to see with spot on lens. I have the same problem with my regular glasses too. The over shades do a better job for about $22 from walmart. Some have a wide solid earpiece at the glass frame and others have a small shade made into them. I like the small shaded ones best.
I like a size 58 or 60 frame, I'm in a 56 for now, it gives me a bit of tunnel vision compared to wider frames.

Last night I was loading grits into 303 Britt brass to be resized to 410. Sitting in bed the overhead light and bedside light wasn't enough. I mounted the
lighted magnifier with 45 watt bulb to my lap table for better viewing. Now there are 2 holes in the lap table for use later.
