Thank you, njones. I am attempting to make a copy of an jig another member here does, or did. I pM'd him and asked how he did them. He stated he didn't want to as he sells them and I offered to buy some. He said he would notify me when they went up for sale on ebay. Fast forward to a year, checking every couple of days, and I figured if I wanted some, I better figure them out my self as none have ever been available for sale.
I don't want mine to be an exact copy, as I don't want to take business away from him, As I'm not in business. I tie for my enjoyment only and to find something to catch fish regularly. Yes I do use plastics, but enjoy the hand ties as well.
The fat belly shad, is the profile I'm trying to achieve. Up in the stickies of this jig making forum is jig pictures. Click that, then Last up in the page numbers, (should take you to page 17). Scroll down to the second picture. That is the profile I'm shooting for, not necessarily the colors. The local market still don't have the glue/ resin I'm wanting, so, I have to order some. Unfortunately, being on a fixed income, forces delays in ordering some times.
Only a couple more days, and I hope to have what I need. Shortly after the first, this one will be finished up. Primarily working on shape in the final jig consistently right now. Then will be working on colors. I will say, this is a tricky little devil to tie.
