Calf Tail | Crappie Jig Tying Materials |United States |Woods and Water Outdoors
When I started they were like $2 each at the shop. One of the cheapest tail materials. I still have a bunch from back then. I don't use a lot of kip tail because I find the material difficult to work with. It's awkward to cut off the tail and it's hard and slick so getting it to stay on the hook takes more time and effort than I want to spend on one jig when there are cheaper materials that are easier to handle. I only use it for really small thread necks.
