    Just tie a loop of 12# mono on the shaft and let it hang off the back. Tie your pattern. Pull loop over body tie off at eye with several wraps and whip finish.

    What about on really small jigs?

    Should work on any size just may have use smaller pound test

    I had a bumble bee deer hair fly that is tied with one mono loop and it did very well for a lot of years. I finally hung it on a Lilly pad that I couldn’t get to and lost it. Fooling with those you’ll find what works best for what you use.

    And that's pretty weedless? I have been doing a single mono 30# trying to be weedless while not making it hard for the fish mouth to deflect it. Interesting way... I will try that !

    Here are a couple of bead head flies from several years ago with the mono double weedguard. Fished it a long time under a weighted float and caught crappie on it Still have it..Name:  20181128_170945.jpg
