Been reading about twisting chenilles to get different color combos for jigs. How is this done?

I tie in two colors and cut a slightly longer length than what I will need. I pull a few fibers from the loose ends and grip the exposed core threads with hackle pliers, then rotate the pliers to get the desired twist. As I wrap the chenille around the jig, I adjust the twist if necessary. Secure ends at the head and trim, then whip finish and glue as normal.
You just tie both in and then twist them together and then wrap and tie off.

I do it two ways. One is the twist and the other is to tie them side by side and do a barber pole.
