Much better and that is why we don't cut the natural ends off of anything or at least I don't! Good job! Skeetbum mentioned short strikes and really I don't have a problem with that and just think bream will hot short, but a good crappie will take that in that big old mouth. However when I am spring fishing with these I am going slow, like .4 MPH to .8 MPH and in shallow water, usually 6'-9' water depth. The long tails move so much like swimming.
