Not bad. Not bad at all. Those dogs will hunt some Crappie.

Good color combos and they look like they are tied well!

I typically tie in flash after the marabou so that it’s on the outside to let the fish see it better. Rather than trimming the ends of the feathers, adjust the length by moving fibers up toward the head before tying.

I still have a tendency to put too much volume of fibers in the tail but have found that less can be better (to give more tail action)

Looks like your colors are okay and you have the basics pretty good. Now stop cutting the good ends off the marabou! Also don't include the stem in so much. If the tip quit is very thin it's okay to include it, but on mine I use no stem probably 90% of the time and you get more and better action without the stem! I am in a bind for time right now, but we can chat later too and you can PM me if interested. Here is a picture of my marabou tails and I pull the barbules off the stem and stack them until I have enough, then I pinch them about where i want to cut it to length, then I cut off the ends I pulled loose from them stem.

Big improvement! Much more action out of the tips. The fish will tell you what length they want. I also like a long tail but if the short strike, shorten some down and try that. You do nice work.

Much better and that is why we don't cut the natural ends off of anything or at least I don't! Good job! Skeetbum mentioned short strikes and really I don't have a problem with that and just think bream will hot short, but a good crappie will take that in that big old mouth. However when I am spring fishing with these I am going slow, like .4 MPH to .8 MPH and in shallow water, usually 6'-9' water depth. The long tails move so much like swimming.
