I have read the the color red disappears at 20 feet. I never was a big red person when it comes to panfish personally!

I would bet that visibility would depend on who is doing the looking. The man or the fish?

I sure like that black and pink tail. Might have to do a little experimenting myself!

    Somebody's lying! LOL
red disappears first in the water column so that would make the hook invisible at same depth. maybe like having clear hook, would`t work on a dry fly at the surface. bleeding bait catches fisherman

Scientists say fish and humans have about the same vision. I am most looking down and the fish are mostly looking up. I can see the fish in clear water and they can see me. Next comes the murky waters. I can't see them and they can't see me. Somewhere between clear and murky resides the facts.

Them puppies will hunt CP - great tyes!

I try to use red in all my tyes - especially fluorescent red in the tail.
I like to use red snake eyes for lighter jigs that are used in shallower water.
Blue and glow eyes for deeper water.

Tom, if it came from me it was probably red neck sting. Holler when you need more, I'm not tying much lately.
