Name: shad jigs.jpg Views: 842 Size: 73.3 KB A buddy of mine asked for a shad for some of the Hybrid Stripers he likes to catch. I made him a simple Shad imitation with a DO-IT Ultra Minnow 1/8 oz., a little bit of flash, and some polar fiber. I decided to just clear coat the lead. I've done this before and when sealed good, it holds its shine pretty well. I use a 1/16 a bunch in a little different style head seems to work well. Something to think about is that the Threadfin shad will be spawning soon in some areas. On that same line of thought, I caught a 2.5 pounder a few years back that had a 10 inch gizzard shad with the tail coming out its mouth and it still ate my jig!
