I feel it is all about fishing stuff I made, I can buy a lot of higher quality things than I make, the thump on one of my jigs makes it all worth while. I still look at I as a hobby, I will not get rich doing this and not many will. And yes to me it is about the art, and the THUMP.

I agree about the thump...I haven't caught anything on one of my ties but I know it will. I sure don't think mine are even close to being professional quality and I know I'll never make enough money to pay for my lunch but I created it and they are my art now.

    Bologna.
    Pure n simple.
If you tied something, it'll catch.
"Professional quality" is a figment of the imagination.
If you want money to pay for your lunch by selling PRO fessional jigs, just say "my jigs catch fish" or "ask so n so".
Have fun tying. If it's not fun while catching food, then it's stupid to me. Fish can be caught on a kernel of corn, a cotton ball or a pillow feather.....among anything else.
Pride in creating an art that has a purpose is very rewarding, but honestly..... it's still just.... fishing.

Yes can catch fish on most anything! As a kid I once caught a 7pound bass on a Salmon egg and hook, nothing else! I could see him in the water so I stuck that egg in front of him and he ate it, lol!
