When you Palmer hackle it probably should be the more stiff stuff like on the chicken feathers we use neck hackle for tails and the saddle hackle for collars and palmering as well as they can be used on tails too. Just tie what you think will be a winner!

I see what you mean, I was trying to twist the feathers to make something of a body. These are pretty fuzzy but look pretty "buggy" to me. I am not sure palmering was the correct term. I am having some fun experimenting with this stuff. The straight marabou tails look really good, I think the variance in colors will mimic sculpins pretty good down on Tanney.
