Nice looking grey ghost. As far as finishing your thread wraps, I am sold on a martelli whip finishing tool. Prior to that I would do them by hand but was never happy. I then switeched to a needle and would put several wraps over the needle and run the tag end through the eye and pull it tight. But the tool makes it much easier and a little drop of thread cement and away we go.

Thanks for all of the positive comments and the suggestions. I certainly hope to get better with time, but I don't think you professional have a thing to be worried about. LOL. If I can just tie a few for me and some lucky friends that will catch fish, I will be extremely happy.

one day you'll be turning out beautiful jigs just keep working at it you will get the hang of it is time goes by when you sit down to make some take your time and enjoy your hobby do not ever get into a big rush you will get nowhere after a few hundred of them you will start to get to hang of it I started out when I was 13 years old and I'm still tying jigs at 68 years old it is a hobby it's been a lifetime thing with me I have never thanked my uncle were teaching me how to fish over the years he first took me out when I was three and I caught my first fish a bluegill when I was 13 there was a young feller fishing with some jigs and he told me that he made them and I told them I would like to see how he does it he had a small lead pot he had a single shot mold I managed to get a few heads from him and that's how I got hooked into tying JIGS since the early days we have progressed tremendously for you young guys that didn't know back in the 50s and 60s we did not have what you would call a good hand tied JIG the ones that were on the market were just a single head with marabou and that's all there was nowadays you got all the fancy materials to use in the world and we are still learning how to use certain materials believe me I do not know every one of them but we get to hang of each one eventually with the help of the many good people on here but if you need anything please let us know we will gladly help you without any problems.

Your on the right track. First you have to have the desire. Second you have to have the patience. Third you have to satisfy yourself because your ties are catching
fish. Then your wife will be very happy because your catching fish with your flies and bringing home the fish. Then everyone is happy and your a success.
