Welcome to jig tying it can be rewarding,frustrating,expensive(watch for sells)(jannsnetcraft,crazyangler,barlows tackle,white river tackle shop).You can make colors you cannot buy at wal-mart or other tackle shops. LET THE FISH TELL YA!! Keep one jig back for future reference.They kind of get lost until thats the last one and a fish breaks it off.

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone. And, all of you are right, this can get addictive and expensive. I visited Bass Pro Shops yesterday and picked up a few new materials. Even my wife kept saying "you need this and you may need this." It was so funny. I got some chenille and tried my hand with it last night.

Some words of advice .. I live next to a BPS Here in Tacoma Washington I love that store but when it comes to stuff to tie with you are better off going to a local fly shop or online.. BPS are very High on there prices and the quality of there stuff is not worth it .. The only time I buy there if I'm in great need of it

All I can say is keep trying and keep reading every thing you can! There is a lot of info you need for this hobby as your finding out early!

Your Ties Are Looking good. I find too that BPS is not allways the best. I have nothing but the best experience with Nimrods tackle. He is here on crappie.com.

Good Start! Youtube is you friend for learning new techniques. I've learned more through the years by looking on there than anywhere. Another good thing to do even if you may never tie flies is to learn the techniques fly tiers use to tie flies. You will be surprised at how much fly tying can be used on tying jigs too.
