They are look great. Question, why are you tying the hackle feather sideways. Tying them that way will restrict movement of the feather while working the jig. I know it gives a nice profile for picture taking but, are there another reason why, just wondering.

Okay guy you ask for it, LOL!
Colors look good enough, but I would have changed a few things for my taste, like the first one, I would use either a Flame Red head or a Bright Green head, but that is just me.
Now for a couple things that are real and most don't seem to know or understand why some things are as they are. Only talking about #2 and #5 here, you are using the wrong end of the chenille when you tie it in. See how #5 has the kind of funny ridges? That is from tying in the wrong end of that piece of chenille. Rayon is the only one that has a direction to it and the Nylon chenille will not be the same. To choose the right end of the chenille pull it gently between your thumb and finger and try it from both directions and you will feel it more rough one way over the other, the rough end is the one you want to tie in! THen the chenille will look a lot better.
Seems like #4 has some trapped fibers in your wraps? You can pull back on the fibers with you left hand (if your right handed and making wraps with the right)) as you make new wraps to help keep that from happening!
I also agree with Stump, tie in your hackle so it sits right on top of the hook.
However I have another thing, make your body more consistant and stop the body in or near the same spot all the time. You seem to have a tendency to wrap the chenille to far back, more like a fly is tied. The body should stop at about the hook point and for sure not past the barb.
Let me hold anything else for another time and besides that should be enough to work on.

Its About freakin time somebody gives me honest feedback about my tying jigs and I thank you for that ..
I did not know that about Rayon chenille now I know..
Trapped fibers It looks like it in the pic but I looked at the jig before I wrote this and there was not its just the pics I kept breaking thread on this jig then I discovered I was using 70 instead of 210 ..
The hackle is tied on top of the hook I take my time to make sure of that I can not see why you would say that it was not Please tell me..
The body is my weak point I just cannot get consistent with that..
From now on please do not hold back just tell me .. this is stuff that I need to know to get better I would love to know what else you have to say..

Okay Steve glad you soak it is. Don't feel bad about the Rayon, most do not know that and I don't ever remember telling anyone about it that ever said they already knew that. I just kind of discovered it myself because I would tie a jig that same out good and then I would tie one that came out like yours did. Then I started asking myself what it heavens name is making them come out different. Then I finally figured it out that they feel different coming through your fingertips. Then it was just a matter of tying one and see what happened using each end, LOL!
Just remember a few things on your chenille like the spiky stuff, first if it came wrapped on a card, it may have direction for you to use and if it does then tie in the end to when you make wraps the lean is to the rear. Even with this still use your off hand when making wraps to pull the fibers back away from your next wrap.
When we talk about the feather on top of the hook, we are also saying the feather needs to lay flat on top of the hook with the shiny side sticking up and the other thing is with this the curved down side will be on bottom. Here is a picture of what I mean and I hope it comes out clear enough to tell. When you look at your jig profile you should see the edge of the feather and not a broad side view.
On your place to stop the body, just wrap your thread base to the bend of the hook, but when tying in your chenille only wrap thread over it as far back as the hook point, from there you can end it right there when you start the wrapping or you can make your first wrap a little farther back at the barb or close. However for a while I would just stop it at the hook point area until it gets comfortable to you.

Sorry LMAO, it's not actually wrong if you want them like that, but it's different and lets just say that. There is a top and a bottom to each feather and once you get into trying some collars or Plamered hackle you will want to know that for sure. Shiny side is top, dull is bottom and usually some cup to it to the underside. Dry fly hackle is much thinner and stiffer, but still have a top and a bottom side.
I agree we should have said something before now.
