How to tie in wing cases on Alibi jigs

SnakeRiver what kind of trouble did you get in for making those?

rooty tooty claimed that I was stealing his design. it is a very old pattern if you look back in history you'll find it in the 50s and 60s style was very popular it just didn't have the wing part exactly right it was a different style of plastic they tied on behind the head of the jig.

Snake I for sure am not going to make these to sell just showing how the wings are tied on for some of the guys that wanted to know. I have a friend that sells this type of jig Rooty Tooty and in no way am I trying sell anything like these. It is a art to get these wings tied in to make the jig look right and work right.

I was not insinuating that you were going to sell them. I more or less was joking with you no intentions okay. like I said this is a very old pattern it goes way back many years ago I do remember using some of them these had a transparent wing tied on most of them were using deer hair and some of them were using feathers most of them were white on the tail there were no patents filed on the style that I know of it just a common ordinary jig I think it's nice of you to bring it to the post for the guys to make their own style in this is a very good post that you posted on and I'm sure you guys will have a lot of fun working with it. most of my jigging is not with hand-tied jigs anymore mostly plastics the only time I use hand-tied jigs is a smaller variety for bluegill. many years ago back in the early 60s I used what they call a dull jig which is a simple marabou head with the marabou tied on behind the head it was very popular because that's all there was back then. then in the late 60s or 70s they come out with a plastic skirt made by Canyon we had the opportunity to do some field testing that's were the skirts originated from on the market today we still use some of their skirts now and then they are not available outside of here seems like they are only on the West coast .
