Guys here is what the wings look like before tied in and one laid out on a ruler so you can see the size. These can be cut out of any rubber materiel like pool floats or beach balls. I made a short video for you to see, it has been a while since I cut out or tied one of these but you will get the "how to's" on tying them. If you are tying with the kiptail to make a jig tie the kiptail onto the hook like you would if tying a thread neck jig and you will have the jig right when you tie on the wing case.
Hope this helps,

Enjoyed the video, thanks. Have a pattern for the wing taken from a 1/16 oz jig, have a pic to post later. Tied a 1/32 oz with feathers but am waiting on some hackle. Have never used kiptail is the hair smaller than bucktail? Thanks again.--shu

Kiptail is slick so you have to be sure to get it tied down tight or it will pull out. Should look good on a 1/16 oz jig.

stump I got in trouble for making those do you remember that post. we were buying sheets of lightweight plastic and different colors similar to what the wading pools are made up they do work quite effective and they have a different action in the water also you can use reflector tape works quite well will give you more flash you can buy that stuff in 1 million different combinations so there is all kinds of material that you can use for the wing but it definitely is a good post I'm glad that you showed the video it's a little bit of an arc to get on cutting the wings out but you guys will have your own patterns. I also was thinking about using plastic like we shoot our plastic baits with the only problem was that it would be would be the thread cutting into the plastic so you would have to tie it very likely but you would have the wings flapping or moving just an ideal.

SnakeRiver what kind of trouble did you get in for making those?

Snake I for sure am not going to make these to sell just showing how the wings are tied on for some of the guys that wanted to know. I have a friend that sells this type of jig Rooty Tooty and in no way am I trying sell anything like these. It is a art to get these wings tied in to make the jig look right and work right.
