I don't have a lot of experience with a bunch of diff vises but I can say find one that really can hold a hook good. Many diff size hooks at thAt. While not in your price range, I recently got a dyna-king barracuda and I've found the greatest thing about upgrading from a starter vise is the hook holding ability. The rest are bells n whistles.

Lots of good ones from $100 to $200. Try to handle what you are looking at if you can. Some are just smoother than others. I travel so I get to fly shops and Cabela's and BPS and such. I was surprised at some of them, and some of the cheaper ones were better than expected. The Anvil's were good for as much as I was on them, you could do a lot worse. Hardly ever see a used peak for sale which speaks for them. Good luck, lots of choices. Let us know which one you bring home and what sold you on it so everyone might learn a little something.
