Blade baits

I noticed on those propbaits; you only use a bead behind the prop. Do they spin very well? I've been told to use a bead before and after the prop. On a small jig this takes up a lot of room so I've never fished them.

I've made hundreds with only 1 bead and never have an issue. Only time I ever had a problem was a bad batch of propellors, hole was oblong and they would not spin worth a darn.

I make my prop baits with a wire keeper for plastics. One bead as well. I will try to post some pictures...

Not sure who the one bead question was to, but I used one on mine and they did just fine.

I have not yet made any with the small blade in the back it's something for me to experiment with. are they very effective?.

If I had to pick a tied style to fish with, casting, that'd be the one I'd use. The belly spins work good too, but the tail gunners are lethal and easy to fish. I tied some back when JJ1 did a tutorial on another site.
My son tore me up using some I tied verse me with a road runner on some suspended fish.
Tried the props, but never had any luck.

Every style of blade bait has it's special place in my tackle bag. Tail gunners are killers in rivers for me and prop baits I've had good success in lakes. Pillheads and chubs fill in any gaps. I used to fish strictly jigs but now I have some type of spinner on one of the three rods I carry when I'm bank fishing. I let the fish decide what they want since every day is different. I catch more fishing jigs but seems like bigger fish hit the blade baits.

thank you very much for the information all have to make some up and try them out I was only concerned about the blade being on the tail it would hinder the strikes were with the fish take it.

lol. When I saw "blade baits" I thought of something like a sonar from Heddon. Here's a modified Heddon Sonar style bait made with a Do-It mold that is pure genius.
