I usually buy the collarless heads for tying, but last year the local Cabela's store had a blowout sale on collared heads. At 15 for $0.50 a pack, I just couldn't resist and bought as many as I could find in panfish sizes. So I have around 300 heads with barbed collars. I just grab the barb with a pair of needlenose pliers and twist. It usually pops right off.
