Thanks guys for the post we have really been working on this glow jig material. We fish super clear water can see 10' easy espically now with low water level, cooler water temps and drought conditions. The glow jigs have been the ticket not only for the glow in this super clear water. These fish suspend over deep water in 20-30' only 10' to top of tree .If you look at the jig in about 10' you can see a white glow jig has a slight greenish tint which is a super color in clear water. When mixed with chart it turns even greener.enjoy the post and your ideas.

Then you are fishing what I would call extra clear water. Down here it's really clear when you can see a jig down maybe 5-6 feet at most. My part of the lake, (it's a huge lake with 1200 miles of shoreline so not all the same) in early spring usually can see maybe 1 1/2' and mid April probably 3' and can get to 4'. However fish can see so much farther than we can. Bass for example can see 5' to 7' in muddy water and 15' to 17' in stained. So in your water a very long way, LOL!

In its day Greers Ferry lake built in the 60's was a great crappie lake over time the timber that was left is about gone.Except in spring after the spring runoffs it is very clear and deep. lots of dropoffs the local bassclubs and the AGFC/COE have added brushpiles it is still very hard to fish.We have bottom land lakes just to the south and the famous White River and Arkansas river that is a lot better crappie fishing. In the summer we have a lot of pleasure boating and almost impossible to fish where you need to fish for crappie. Greers Ferry has some great bass fishing,Largemouth, smallmouth and kentucky bass as well as white bass and hybrid striper fishing and great walleye fishing. The crappie fishing has taken a back seat but at times we can catch a mess of crappie. That is where the glow jigs come in,4lb test line 1/48 oz,1/32 oz small jigs, custom made jigs you can't get at wal-mart!!!!

I can see why you need 4# test and small jigs in something that clear. I use 10# rest a lot here and early spring I can use Power Pro 10-2 in hi-viz yellow and not a problem. My Glow jigs are like you see in my hand in the Sig, I just stuck my hand under my table where I tie and even leaving on the over head light and take that pic. They are just about indestructible, but I am sure at some point the feathers will wear off. I can't wait to try the new glow skirt materials I just got, but guess it will have to go with my Aqua Blue Glow since this stuff Glows Aqua Blue too. The Green and Aqua Blue are the brightest colors. This lake was also built in the late 1960 and I have fished it since then, but also Sam Rayburn is only about 25 miles from me. Toledo Bend was National Forrest when the Dam was built and flooded the area where it now is so tons of trees and still a lot, but most have broken off now from the water level dropping and rising again and again. Until the 1980 there were not even any boat lane markers because the trees were so thick it was still easy to see where to run. Both Rayburn and Toledo Bend are great Crappie & Bass lakes. We also have lots of White Bass and Striper here as well as Hybrids, but no Walleye. I would love to try them at some point, but never have been were I could go after any of them.

If your talking about mine, I make the stuff used and do consider it a trade secrete type thing. If your talking about the other ones then the stores he mentioned and probable several others.
