How about just tying in some red thread over the curved part of the hook shank?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

That give me another idea, I have some Antron yarn that I could do that with or maybe do that and leave a short tag to hang out. Have to try that, thanks!

Skip, I used the yarn and squirrel tail hair. (Gray). The catch was no different that day. I love that bait. I use it mainly on a flyrod.. I also use the variegated chenille. Works great.
