Thanks for posting your pics Skip. I was wondering whether or not anyone ever used hackle collars on crappie jigs. Hadn't seen any here.

I saw one where the hackle was wrapped candy-cane style around the chanielle body. It was very cool looking...but then again, I'm not eating it.

Thanks fishing nut, I think they will be very good too. I have made quite a few over the years for customers and they seem to like them a lot. I just had never used these feathers that are laced before and I like them too. The cool thing is I have some like these that are not laced and are silver speckled which I think will be awesome too.

If you can find a color in the same material, in white and red, or grey and red color to mimick gill flash it would be awesome! Nice jig!

    Thank you!
Well the laced black part is the natural color and only the middle is up for dying different colors, but a red hackle would do the same thing and just be solid red. As for the grey and with I have both of them and actually the only thing different is the laced feather for the collar and it can be any color one wanted. You can even sue a lot of different types of hackle for that including but not limited to saddle hackle, cape streamer hackle, Hen hackle and many more.
