    Default Can someone help me??

A few days ago I saw a website selling jig hooks and they listed the diameter of the lightwire aberdeen and sickle hooks. Stupid me didn't save it and now I can't find it. I was just looking to see which hooks were lighter. Does anyone know which site it might have been?

sorry can't help you about the web site but rule of thumb says that the Aberdeen hooks will be the lighter of the two. The Sickles always seem to have a larger diameter and some of my custom molds that were built for Aberdeen hooks I have had to modify to take the larger diameter sickles or I get a lot of flash on them.

I agree, I think the aberdeen are lighter than the sickle. I also think the bronze may be lighter than the gold hooks. I guess what I am looking for is whether or not there is a hook which will bend easier that the Eagle Claw 570. I just wasn't sure whether some other brands may be lighter. I also realize that diameter is only one factor in how easily a hook will bend.

Barlow's prints a wire diameter on their jig hooks with the 1/0 hook as a base diameter. I think one is very slightly thicker on average.

This is my opinion only but of all the hooks that i have used I think that the VMC Aberdeen bronze hooks are the ones that bend the easiest for me. Matzou and EC area little harder in my estimation. But like I said it is just my opinion. I can post no scientific data to back up my claim.

Thanks, that's what I was looking at. I don't see it on their website but it is in their print catalog.

Redman, thanks, I'll try those hooks.

There's a member on CDC called lightwirehooker. He might be able to deliver what you seek.
