You are off to a good start and they will catch you fish. You are just starting to tye so always remember to clean the eyes out before you tye the material on your jig. Nice colors and welcome to jig tying

I hate it myself when the paint covers the eye and I have to stop and clean out the hole. I still get some myself with paint in the eyes. Also as yellowjacket said the chenille needs to be fuller at the head. I always put one extra wrap to make it full to the head. I learned from mistakes I made too but your off to a good start and hope you enjoy tying as much as I do. It's very addictive and I spend too much on materials but it's a cheaper hobby for me than others I can think of.

Looks like tier getting some good advice already. Make your chenille almost like it's overlapped so it's fill all the way to the head. I like long tails, but you may want to make them just a little shorter. I really can't tell if you left the stem in your marabou or not, but if you did you may want to tear off the barbules and stack them until you get enough to tie in. Always cut the end you tear off and not the natural ends and leave them looking natural like yours do now.

First jigs though, not bad at all and soon you will have them looking good!

Looking pretty good. I like the color combination for sure. I am with others in making the tail shorter on the jig and wrapping the chenille fuller up by the head, but really nice first ties.
