When you guys tie with fox do you leave the underfur in or comb it out before tying? I know it can bulk a body up fast. Probably use it both ways?

That's good looking stuff Hunter. I'll prob just use this as is for now, but like you say, it's a great material.

The fur I'm using is off a Silver Fox coat. Not a lot of under fur on it.

I'm not noticing a lot of underfur, maybe cuz it's the tail. For what I was tying bulk wasn't a bad thing. It is fluffy though.

Skeet, my friend, that is one awesome looking jig. Very nice job!

I picked up some pieces of arctic fox on a whim thinking to use it for salmon or steelhead jigs. Their fur sure is dense. Kind of like a longer version of rabbit fur. The patch of skin was maybe 1" by 2" and there was a ton of hair attached. I assume it's the same for other foxes?
I've seen a few roadkilled foxes and coyotes around here, but none since I started tying. I'm definitely keeping my eye out, though. I do see see badgers and squirrels pretty frequently. I know for squirrel you can use the tail and zonk the hide, but has anyone tried badger? Their hair looks pretty short.
Don't worry, catch crappie.
