One of my favorite color combo's is Silver/Blue/White and have use it for years and have some here on this lake that they use it more than any other color. Of course early when this lake is a bit stained I use Chart/Blue/Chart and have excellent luck with that. I have used these two pretty mush as my favorites for probably at least the last 6 years. I have started to go with Silver body and Blue tail a lot more the last couple years, but the other two still catch their share.

After all Blue is the color that can be seen farther through the water over any other color.

Its not color, in my opinion
Fish are scattered chasing newly hatched baitfish up and down river sloughs and creeks here. On a bright day in semi clear water you can't even see the surface in a lot of areas due to the cloud of bait covering it. Swimming a jig close to the surface with abrupt drops, no deeper than 7 ft, is working for me. Should still work on your lay downs. What I did was take home a few of the minners, compared them to the ones I pulled from stomachs, tied some jigs as close as I could pattern wise with a larger profile. Matching the hatch while standing out from the crowd, so to say.
Just what's worked for me.*Thumbs Up

Usually it's because the spawn isn't completely over. Same is going on at a lake I fish here. Most males still have the black tint to them through May and I haven't caught but just a few the past few weeks. I've been averaging about 25 females a trip, throw the usual 10 or 12 males in with that and it's a repeat from past years qty catch wise. The females here too only have small amounts of eggs left in which I don't believe they'll lay based on the color of them. Just speculation but I think it's because a lot of the males have been up on the banks still protecting the nest and most females are out feeding. So if you're experiencing the same as me, once the males call it quits the bite should pick up. I figure in another week or so it will be dynamite. Also, try a little deeper water if you have any other than the channels.
