It took me a long time to get that thing down when I first started. The best whip finisher I have ever used and a good import model works well. I ended up getting the extended reach model for jigs and use it now on everything.

Isn't that the truth, the extended reach model really does help in getting around the head of the jig.

I will try and run down a link. I got so frustrated trying to use the standard Matarelli on jigs I almost gave up. I was watching someone do a large salt water jig and he talked about the extended reach. I bought on and never looked back. It looks like the standard one but the distance between the opening is twice as long.

That Wasatch Extended reach is what I use for my Roadrunners and a regular for most jigs. It also come is handy when you want like a 3 turn whip finish knot just to hold at or near the bend of the hook which I use on my rabbit jigs a lot. Both are very good and useful, but you don't have to spend what a Wasatch cost if you just want a plain one. They all work good that I have used.

Sorry Rev, it's basically just a large one not the standard one. This link is only for showing the large size one NOT the site itself.
