    Default jig painting?

Well I just bought some molds to make my own jigs for plastics, what is the best way to heat the jig up so that I can powder paint them? I used a lighter this weekend but took way to long. Also, what would cause the paint to look rough feeling? Could the powder be old? Some of them looked I will say good but some a bit rough feeling.I used a whisk to stir the powder up, I am going to make a few powder hoppers soon but wanted to give it a try. My jigs turned out good but the painting needs work.
    Thanks guys for any input.

get yourself a heat gun with a thermostat control on one they are about 40 bucks or so.

I use a small propane torch. But as for the roughness, you might need to re introduce the head to the flame to get it to flow

get yourself a alcohol burner... I was using a heatgun and was going ok, went to a buddies over the weekend and used his alcohol burner, and it's alot easier for me ...... i noticed with the heatgun if i got the head too hot, but not enough to make it smoke, that the powder paint would be thick and rough looking, and even after re-introducing to the heat it would'nt clear up.

Ditto the alcohol burner and then you don't even have to listen to a heat gun running or melt the lead right off the hooks with a torch too long. Plus it's clean so no soot like from a candle or something like that which is no good. Been using a burner for 5 years now and still like it best!

Add small amounts of blue to orange until you get your desired "brown"
